Calculating the power required of the diesel engine takes also into account the altitude the engine will work. The oxygen is a key factor for combustion, and the higher the altitude, the lower the atmospheric pressure is, hence the access to oxygen. At Mussala peak (2 925m), this ratio is 71%, compared to sea level.
